Vermont

The submission for Washington County, Vermont was designed and created by Montpelier resident Patty Pirog, who teaches quilting classes at Notion Fabric and Craft in Montpelier. She used the Green Mountain Star Block design with a transfer of the Vermont State House featured in the center. Surrounding sections are references to Washington County’s beautiful waters, meadows, mountains, and ever-changing sky.

The quilt block was submitted by Montpelier Alive. They work to sustain Montpelier’s vibrant downtown community by offering and supporting special events and activities and by promoting City businesses. They work to preserve the City’s historic character and unique sense of place.

The Vermont square was the 1^st square received for the Washington’s Unite collaboration.
