Washingtons Unite

Kentucky

We are proud to represent two Presidents. Washington of course and Lincoln. This is where the Lincoln Legacy began. Abraham’s parents were married in Washington County in 1806.

The Kentucky Star Quilt is a striking pattern known for its bold geometric design and deep historical roots. Characterized by a central star motif created from interlocking diamonds and triangles, the quilt symbolizes unity and resilience. Traditionally crafted with a vibrant palette of blues, whites, and reds, this Kentucky Star pattern reflects our state heritage incorporating the red, blue, and gold of our state flag. The central figures: George Washington honors our great first President, and Abraham Lincoln, whose family’s legacy began in Washington County through his parents’ marriage in 1806. Crafted by a local quilter, Rita Yates, a longtime member of Washington County, KY, Rita’s craftsmanship and artistic ability is evidenced in the precision and beauty of our quilt square.
