Illinois

The Illinois design for the quilt block was chosen because they felt it best represented what our country stands for. The wagon wheel represents the crossroads through the state in all four directions. These crossroads were used by the Native Americans, the military, and the settlers that traveled through, and by the railroad.

Wheat is on the square because we are the largest growers of wheat in the state.

The designers were Kelly Deering, Monical Bochantin, Audrey Ostendorf, and Emily Hackstadt.
