Georgia

The design of the quilt square was decided on two factors:

1. Georgia was one of the 13 colonies

2. Washington County, Georgia has strong Daughters of the American Revolution and Sons of the American Revolution organizations.

There is a strong effort to find and mark the graves of revolutionary veterans in the county.

These factors helped in selecting the Betsy Ross flag for inspiration of the blue field of stars. The square was a joint effort by Alyssa Scott and Diane Davie.
